You are cutting the pads with the plastic foil still on? Doesnt this squeeze the pads on the edges? I dont think that is good...

Consider a CPU bottleneck here in most of the games that you saw a 6700 XT as a "dissapointment". Even a 6600 XT was too fast for your 10400f
